Well well well...look what we got here...a possible reunion of rivals in the city of wind. One can only imagine the craziness that is in effect right now that both Chicago baseball teams are in the playoffs. Some southsiders say the Cubs have had a string of good luck and a weak division. Some northsiders say that the White Sox are lucky to squeeze in by the skin of thier teeth like a high school student sliding by his after school program so he can graduate on time and walk the carpet to his diploma. Either way you look at it, one can only be happy that the odds of a chicago baseball team making it the Big One will be higher. Now, to get the real point across. I'm a die hard Sox fan from the days before they were able to sell out the ballpark and having rallies with a certain golden trophy gracing the cold streets of the southside. I for one am completely estactic that the Chicago White Sox are in the playoff game, and to get my point across on this subject, big deal the Cubs Clinched thier spot early on, good for them. It doesn't give Cubbie fans the right to degrate how the White Sox made thier way into the playoffs, a win is a win right? I mean I see all the "W" signs all over the Northside when they win, especially when its a series where they've had thier asses handed to them, yet they are still holding that "W" sign like a hardcore George "W." Bush supporter. So when the southside gets the "W" to be at the same dance, why does it have to be discredited? Why is it that Cub fans drink, drink, and drink some more and w00t and holler about the great job they've done, but the moment something bad happens, 300+ curses come from the woodworks and it at full blame? I can same the same to my southsiders too, when the White Sox were on thier way to the World Series in 2005, the media wanted to make more of it then what it was, talking about the "Black Sox Curse" which is not at all a real curse, that was something the media and band wagon Cub fans who flipped to Black and White were saying to make the game more enjoyable to drink. As a true Sox fan, I was happy entering the World Series and taking it all the way with sweeps across the board, but not for a moment was I saying, "Yes the curse has been lifted" that is weak and childish. The reality is that now there is a possible potential that the Chicago White Sox & Chicago Cubs could meet in a rematch of the crosstown classic but this time for all the beans PLUS bragging rights. Now, here is a little history lesson: The first Title win at the World Series for the Chicago White Sox was against the Chicago Cubs, don't believe me, just click here and read for yourself, so if by any chance there happens to be a sequel to this awesome crosstown rivalry, please realize that history shows the record White Sox 1, Chicago Cubs 0, and think twice about how a win will erase all the million and one curses the Cubs have that was placed by goats and thier own fans (Bartman) and a blackcat and whatever barnyard animals happen to be inside the "friendly confindes". Either way you look at it, there isn't a better time to be a fan of Chicago baseball then today, well unless you were around in 1906, then that would be the better time to be a fan...
