The Confrontation
(The phone rings, he turns and looks...The phone rings again...he attempts to reach over to pick it up but stops...Then it rings a third time, and with a furious sharp look in his damp eyes, he picks up the phone...)
"..." on his end. "Hello? You there?" she says, "Yeah, I'm here." the wanderer finally replies. "I just wanted to see how you were doing." she states. "I'm alive." he quips back. "I was thinking about you, I wanted to see if your ok." He stands up with phone in hand and proceeds to walk about his bedroom pacing back and forth with anxiety. "I'll let you go, you sound busy, your real short with me on the phone." she said. "I'm not busy, in fact Angelica I have something to tell you, it's good that you called." he quietly says. "Oh really? What's up?" she replies. "I wanted you to help me understand why the hell you think it's ok to call me after all the bullshit you dragged me through? HUH? Tell me!" "....." she is silent on the other end. "Why the hell do you feel it's your god given right to call me like nothing fuckin' happened between me and you? Like, everything is all normal and shit?" he commanded. "I...just...I-I-just missed you that's all." Angelica replied. "You missed me? Are you serious? You apparently didn't miss me that much, it's been over 3 months! Why all of a sudden you call me now? Well?" Our wanderer proceed to curse and insult his former lover and explain to her all the heartache and pain she has caused. He is so persistent that he doesn't let up for any type of apology or explanation from her, he doesn't want one, he wants retribution, he wants payback, even if it's in the form of foul vengeance, he craves it. She begins to cry and whimper on the phone, our lonely loner doesn't let up, he doesn't let her verbal form of weakness stop him from dragging her back into the pool of sin she created and leaving her to drown. "Your right Alex, I deserve it. Everything your saying, it's my fault, I was weak, and I miss you and still love you so much. No matter how hard I try I can't stop thinking about you." she says. "Thinking about me? Now you think about me? Why are you even really calling me anyways? There is nothing I need from you so that must mean you need something from me." he replies. "I'm Sorry! I shouldn't have called, you mean so much to me and I'm lost without you Alex, I need you, I messed up big time."
She begins to start whimpering and sniffing from her be heard on his end, for that brief moment he felt lost, confused, because he still felt the emotion that tied them together, and in that same brief moment, his true nature and goodwill out shined the spite for her and put his feelings aside. Our wanderer takes a deep breath, makes the sign of the cross, and begins to mouth words he would have never thought himself say...
I choose the Pop/R&B styling of Justin Timberlakes' "What Goes Around...Comes Around". This track and video expresses the tension and animosity our wanderer has for his former love. This ties into the cosmic reality that karma is a bitch and will eventually find it's way to someone deserving of it's cause and effect. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Show me your friends and I can tell what kind of person you are, these examples bring the first half of this conversation to a halt and our wanderer makes a move that even surprises him...
