Which Finger is the Best Finger On Your Hand?

What's your guess?
Seems like a weird question to ask right?  I'm sure many would answer this question with a funny answer.  However, think about it for a moment.  Each finger has a great use for it's owner it's attached too.

Let's start with the index finger.  Many people use it to accent their opinion in a debate or conversation or to press buttons for an elevator.  We even use it to let everyone know our favorite team is #1.

Next is the middle finger.  Well, unless you're from another planet, we use the middle finger to express discontent or aggression.  Nuff said.

Now it's on to the ring finger.  This one is easy right?  It's used to express the love you have for another.  With a ring, maybe it's a promise ring or a engagement ring.  Or a wedding ring to express the union of two people.  They say the index finger was chosen to have the wedding ring because it's the only finger that has a vein that leads straight to the heart.

And then there is the pinky finger.  We use that finger to bond a promise between people to either keep secrets or make childhood commitments when we were younger.

Which leaves the Thumb.  Sure it's not exactly a finger, an outcast so to speak.  However, the Thumb helps you gain your grip.  Whether it's to grab a nice cold one at a party.  Or to help you put pieces of a baby crib together.  However you see it, the Thumb comes in handy.

Which is the better finger?  Well the answer is simple.  NONE OF THEM.

Why did I put you through all this reading and tell you NONE OF THEM?  Well it's simple.  Each finger is strong in it's own sense, but they can't complete the jobs of the other fingers.  And more so, they can't complete the hand without each other.  They have their own strengths and weakness separately.  But put them together and they can be strong as a fist!

What's the point of this message?  Much like the fingers on your hand, family or friends each have different strengths, just like you.  But you put them together and you get a family.  Strong and weak in it's own parts separately, but strong together.  And I share this message because this was an old saying that my late grandmother used to say.  And it really beats true today.  We may have friends or family members that struggle with their opportunities and shine stronger then you can in other situations.  However together, they balance each other out and become one perfect yet imperfect sign of strength.

So I hope that some of you take this message back with you and keep it in mind when you have a disagreement with your best friend, your parents, your brothers or sisters, or anyone you consider a part of your hand, or better yet FIST.

God Bless,

~S~
