My Send Off for 2010 - The End of a Challenging Year...

I wanted to take a moment to address my thoughts on the year 2010.  I was a very hard year for me.  As most probably don't know, I have gone through a lot of life changes that challenged me in a way that I wouldn't have imagined.  Some great, well love people have left us and friends have been hurt.  I finally can say that I will officially be able to move on from all the negative people in my life.  Some former friends, some more then friends.  I have endured something I never thought I could move past from and the proof has arrived right before my eyes.  I am willing to take more changes and learn more.  Open myself up and work to become a better friend, brother, son, uncle, and god-father in the year to come.  This moment of reflection comes to me as a sign that no matter how hurt you can become, no matter how left out to dry your life has been, or even how bad your situation has become, as a person we can only learn from our mistakes and efforts and move forward with it.  There are a lot of people in my life I had to give up on, that I wish I never did. But I realized something about that, it was never me who gave up on them, it was them, they gave up on me, or us. However the situation looks, I strive to work at making it better, but you can never help someone who wishes not to be helped.  So I leave you all with this message...

"Don't worry about what resolutions you need to make for next year. Celebrate the accomplishments you made in this one. Celebrate the memories you've made and the people in your life. And also celebrate that you have a chance to do it again..."

I've got an amazing and very challenging year ahead of me as I assume you all do.  Let praise and be thankful for another shot at meeting new people and share great memories!  I dedicate this song to 2010!

Las Vegas 2010 - Aftermath

I just finished editing a short video of our trip from Vegas. The full production will come in the form of a new BHP ENT-TV Episode. We did lots if drinking, walking and other fun shit. Most won't be told due to the laws of Vegas but you know you can count on me bringing my peeps the fun we had back with us. This will be my final update for the trip. Tomorrow I've got lots of sleep to catch up on while I was out. Much props to my cousin Tommy for taking care of things while I was out, thanks for holding it down for me. A New Beginning Is Here, A New Decade is Upon Us... (Decade Tribute)

It's been a long and fun 10 years.  This post has been a long time coming, and now that I have the time and means, I would like to take a moment to put together a small snapshot of what I am most proud of and happy to be apart of in the last 10 years of my life.  I'm gonna keep it simple and true to the point as only I can...

MASS APPEAL

The first moment was back in 2000, a rag tag bunch of fresh looking guys coming from all different walks of life and cultures came together and took a championship from the hands of haters and showed the Chicago nightlife that you don't have to conform to ways that aren't true to yourself.  I present my House Dance Crew MASS APPEAL - and the 15th of September that we won the "Battle of the Dance Crews" Championship from Industry heads trying to control what we all listen, eat, & drink.  From that point on we set an example that you don't have to be all inside someone's ass to get to the top of the food chain, good talent will always prevail.  The only sad outcome to this was that not only did we not get inducted into the CHICAGO HOUSE MUSIC HALL OF FAME, but nowadays there is nothing that come close to this style of music.

RECONNECTING WITH MY FAMILY, & CULTURE

This is definitely one of the best moments in my last 10 years.  I was fortunate enough to be able to visit Puerto Rico and the family I have that resides there.  It was a great experience being able to reconnect with my cousins, and my elders as well.  I was blessed to have a moment to spend sometime with my grandmother.  I was also blessed to have seen her before she past away about a month later from when I saw her.  I have lots of family on this island and I know this won't be my last time there.  This is only the beginning.

CHICAGO WHITE SOX CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORY

This was such a great moment for me as well.  Not only did my favorite team win the world series but I was a part of that history unfolding before my eyes.  I worked with the White Sox Organization and was in awe as I was able to participate with all the events they did with my employer at the time.  This photo was actually taken when they hopped off the double decker buses during the championship rally after they won the world series.  Getting to post up with the ball players and the owner was such a great experience and I will take this memory to heart and share it with my kids' kids' kids hopefully.

TRUE FRIENDS

There really isn't much I can really say about this, except that during the last decade there have been people in my life that have stepped up and played a bigger role in my life and others that have shown their true nature and have been excommunicated for the moist bag of douche that they really are.  My thoughts on this, I'm glad for it, all of it.  The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.  It all has played an important role in helping me become the person that I am today.  For the new and close friends in my life, I can only say that the future is what we make it and that I'll always be the foundation of support for my family and friends.  I strive to play an even more of a greater role in all of my friends lives.  I make that commitment because I know that they will play the same role in mine.

BHPTV: Latest Episode - Police Arrest Drunks At GlenFail Heights Festival

What's better then going to a free entry festival with a beer tent, DJ, and live rock show? Well, if you add in drunk people who don't care for self composure and police itching for an arrest to keep the peace, you get a unique arrest taking place in the middle of a crowd watching 7th Heaven (Local Rock Band) performing all the drunk classics! This happened during the Glendale Heights Festival where apparently the city has turned 50. I was invited by a buddy of mine to attend a BBQ to close out my Sunday evening. We then decided to walk down to the festival to enjoy some more drinking and also the fireworks show. The fireworks show happened this Sunday due to some issue or mis-scheduling of not having fireworks on the 4th of July in Glendale Heights. So here I am enjoying the good music from 7th Heaven and BAM! All of a sudden this drunk guy with his extra drunk girlfriend/wife start walking through and I guess seemed to be pushing people into a mosh pit frenzy. This couple was well into their late 40's-early 50's. How everything unloaded within a second was really hard to tell, all I can say is that I just happened to be right behind the action and decided to get it all on video for later review. The part that gets me the most is that there are still people partying and dancing like nothing strange is happening. What if this guy had a gun? What if this was more extreme then it was? Now, because I knew what was going on I felt safe staying and recording the arrest. However, I know better then to stay whenever there is a crowd of people and police show up. My reasoning behind this is all the events I have done with the City Of Chicago and seeing people in this situation and it usually involves someone getting stabbed or shot, and I've learned to always make like a tree and leave. 30's The New 20! People I'm So Hot Still! Welcome To The GOOD LIFE!

Hello to all my peeps out there! 30's the New 20 I'm so hot Still! I sit here tonight putting together this much anticipated photo album of my 30th Birthday Party. I have been getting calls from friends and family asking how it all went and wanting to see the low down in any form of Digital Mega Pixel Glory. Please know that this was also my boy Drew's Birthday as well, as we always celebrate our birthdays together, and I wouldn't have it any other way! So here it is. My night started out with a stretch Limo arriving at my place around 8:30pm while my guys and I get our pre-game drink on. We were sipping on some Bacardi OCHO and Coke on the ride there. We were laying up relaxing on the way to Chicago, getting, wait for it....HULKED SMASHED!!! We arrived at Filthy Libertine around 9:45p.m, where we had bottles of Petron (Johnny Petron Showed Up!), Grey Goose, and Belvi all on ICE waiting for my golden touch to pop'em open and start the Celebration. The crowd was feeling your boy and his crew the whole night through. We had our VIP section full of fine ladies and good friends. The DJ was also on key with the OLD SCHOOL HOUSE requests! Numbers were taken down my phone but there is no guarantee that I will be calling them back. Also the ladies in the club was really feeling us and wanting to take part in the celebration that was unfolding in front of their eyes, all while bottles of bubbly arrived to signify the birthday celebration! P.S. The Next Day I had a massive hangover, and so did my crew. We decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to get down on some greasy wings to fight the pounding from the night I can barley remember. Then after the crew split up for the rest of the day, I went on a wild Limo chase to retrieve my cousin Tomas' lost wallet. After about 40 miles and 2 Excedrin later. I met up with my Mom to wish her a Happy Mother's Day and to spend time with my folks. Then, as tired as we were, My brother Joel, Tomas and I decided to BBQ and drink to close the night out. Chicago Latin Music Festival, Chicago Auto Show, Puerto Rican Fest Chicago, and the Grand Daddy of them all THE TASTE OF CHICAGO!) I will surely miss doing those skits and interactions with the fans during the summer days.

I'm Back From Vegas, And Boy Oh Boy, I'm Totally Destroyed!

I can honestly say that this was one of the best times I've had our here in the City of Sin, and it was during the beginning of the week! What the Las Vegas Strip lacked in the normal hot spots not being open for the begging of the week, it made up for in the bars and other local hot spots that stayed open. For the most part I have to most definitely respect the rule of Vegas, what happens here will stay here. However, to keep the juicy parts of my story locked away forever, I must admit the crazy parts that made my trip one of the best yet. In a matter of about 72 Hours I manage to completely get HULK SMASHED! On that matter alone I drank more that I thought I could, and then had one of the most twisted and crazy nights that have crossed my way in a while. I manage to sneak into Studio 54 and slip past though security, that was also a massive FTW! I also got to check out all the hot spots, dope hotels and social bars surrounding the Vegas strip. Drank a guitar full of alcohol, ended up across town with my crew scattered all over the Vegas strip, and fired off some clips from a couple of Guns. On a lighter note I've come to realize that I really do love Vegas, it really sticks with me. All the fun one can do during the day EQUALS the amount of trouble and debauchery one can get into during the nights. Flight Delayed! Vegas I'll Be There Soon!

I can't believe it! My flight was delayed! In fact it was almost cancelled, due to the good o' Chicago weather. All the massive rain from the midwest completely delayed our flight and influenced the flight crew to end their shift for the day. We reached over 10:00 p.m., that's when pretty much all of the airports close down. Luckily for us another U.S. Airways flight crew coming from Philly agreed to take us to Vegas. That's when the Hell that broke lose, became peaceful again.

I'm Off To Vacationland! Next Stop...Vegas!

All I can say is it's about freakin' time this finally came around. I've been dealing with a lot the last couple of months, with the economy, work, and also plans I've been trying to put into motion for 2009. So far, things could be better, but they could also be worse too. I've also want to quickly address the whole "no social networking for lent thing". I decided per my last blog post to keep this blog active still through out the whole time I go through lent. So far, so good. The best thing I can say is that for the first 3 days I've been wanting to check my social sites and have not been strong enough not to. The final result...I think I can do without the whole social-networking thing, it has so far given me some time to focus on other things. Aside from that, I really do miss using twitter a lot, but I can do without the whole MyFace-Spacebook thing. If anyone is reading this from the facebook world please note: I use the notes app to feed my blog to facebook, I did not post to facebook, so I am not cheating my lent promise. Now for more pressing matters....I AM GOING TO LAS VEGAS!!!

Yes the time if finally here! I'll be heading out to the city of sin for a long deserved break. We all know the formalities with this, what happens in Vegas, stays there...

However, I am a true advocate of making the most of ever opportunity, so we'll see what makes it and what doesn't....LOLZ FTW!

Putting Plans Into Motion - City Of Sin, Here I Come!

So the election is over, history has been made, and now it's time for America to pick itself up and start to figure out how to get it's wallet fat again. In fact we all need to start that process, and help this economy back on its feet again. I'm on the verge of flying out to Las Vegas and attend a night of some awesome debauchery. It will be a small weekend type trip and I fully intend on getting a lot of R&R and will definitely make sure the drinks keep chilled and keep coming. I've been to Vegas before and I've had the most craziest time there, just the simple fact that it's a meeting place of people from all different types of cultures and types all wanting the same thing...TO GET HULK SMASHED!!! I will go on a long date with lady luck and hopefully score on the velvet tables of chance and keep the dice rolling hot with 7's. Just like my last trip I will definely make the most of it and chronicle the parts that Vegas will let me, because we all know...

Black Wednesday Birthday Party Aftermath

Oh yes my friends, it's was completely and utterly an awesome time on Black Wednesday and a great time was had by all in my group. For starters the Birthday Party went great and everything that I planned for was held up to my word. I couldn't be more happy with how the staff over at Filthy Libertine set everything up. To top it all off the D.J.'s were right on key with the music and the bartenders were also on their A game. I was at the club earlier then normal to make sure everything was set-up right with my friend Terrell, and once things were accounted for, we started to get our Holiday consumption of Alcohol on a hefty jump start. The rest of my guys met up later on in the night to complete the awesome time of kicking back and relaxing, enjoying life and also the music as well. Just like pretty much every other night spot in Chicago on the eve of Thanksgiving, it was completely packed and at the limit of capacity. As you can tell by some of the images posted, it was a real intense time of debauchery commencing. The club actually ended sooner in the night for some odd reason, but it didn't stop our after-set cravings for some more fun. We ended up heading out to Mannequin Night Club and finished off our night out downtown into the early hours of Thanksgiving morning. Now what's next? Well, I guess I'll start off with finishing off my year on a good side and get my 2009 rolling with success from the get go. So, time to start some rough drafts of New Years' Plans, and then focus on the challenges and goals in my focus for 2009.
